Terms of Service & EULA

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Auddio mobile application (“the app”) or its associated website (auddioapp.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and End User License Agreement (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the app.

2. Application License & Open Source

Auddio is provided to you as a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for individual, non-commercial media playback and organization. Components of Auddio are made available under open-source software licenses (MIT License), accessible in the project repository and in-app legal notices. Nothing in these Terms restricts your rights under applicable open-source license agreements.

3. User Content & Media Files

Auddio is a media player that plays locally stored audio files, RSS podcast feeds, and user-configured remote streams:

  • Your Responsibility: You retain full responsibility for the media, files, and links you import, organize, stream, or play using Auddio.
  • Intellectual Property Compliance: You agree not to use Auddio to infringe upon the intellectual property, copyright, trademark, or proprietary rights of any third party. You represent that you possess the necessary legal rights, licenses, or permissions for all audio content you load into the app.
  • No Content Provided: Auddio does not host, distribute, license, or sell audiobooks or podcasts. The application is solely an audio player and management utility.

4. Community Addons & External Integrations

Auddio includes an extensible architecture allowing users to connect third-party community addons, Hardcover, Google Drive, and cloud storage providers:

  • Third-party addons and external APIs are developed and hosted independently from Auddio.
  • We do not review, endorse, monitor, or assume liability for third-party addon content, server availability, or external data practices.
  • Users configure external API keys and resolver endpoints at their own discretion and subject to each third-party provider's terms of service.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the app to:

  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international copyright laws or regulations.
  • Distribute malicious code, scripts, or spyware through custom addon endpoints.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the security or integrity of network connectivity or connected cloud services.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Auddio is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss during cloud synchronization.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developers or contributors of Auddio be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the application.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted at auddioapp.com/terms.html with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
